CAT 584-7993 YM is a steel-backed copper alloy flanged sleeve bearing commonly used in Caterpillar construction machinery. Features a flanged structure, capable of withstanding bidirectional light axial loads, preventing axial movement of the sleeve. The flange also serves as a positioning reference, improving assembly accuracy.
Compared to ordinary sleeve bearings, this bearing exhibits greater elastic deformation, a wider range of shaft diameter tolerances, and effectively prevents loosening under vibration conditions, ensuring reliable component positioning.
Installation and Maintenance Points
**Before installation, clean the inner and outer surfaces of the bearing, the pin, and the housing bore. Inspect for cracks, rust, and deformation. Measure the dimensions of the housing bore (60 mm, H7 tolerance) and the pin (45 mm, h7 tolerance) to ensure an interference fit of 0.010-0.025 mm.** Cold-press installation is used. Apply pressure evenly to the bearing end face using a specialized press; do not strike the copper alloy surface. After installation, check the bearing’s rotational flexibility; ensure there is no jamming or abnormal noise, axial movement ≤0.05 mm, and coaxiality between the inner bore and pin ≤0.02 mm.
Maintenance and Replacement: Check bearing wear and lubrication condition every 1000 hours. If the bearing’s inner diameter wear >0.2 mm or the surface copper layer peels off, replace it immediately. It is recommended to replace it simultaneously with the pin and seals to ensure joint connection accuracy and sealing effect.
