CAT 586-5974 is a Caterpillar genuine GD marked type steel sleeve bearing for hydraulic cylinders. It is suitable for use in the boom/stick cylinder lugs, piston rod ends, or cylinder hinges of excavators and loaders. Its core function is to support the cylinder pin, withstand radial loads and impacts, reduce friction, and ensure smooth oscillation and precise movement of the cylinder under high-pressure conditions. It is compatible with medium and high-pressure hydraulic systems (Cat®…).

Core Technical Parameters

Item Details
Part Model: CAT 586-5974 Hydraulic Cylinder Sleeve Bearing, Original Part Number 5865974, GD marking corresponds to high-pressure working conditions, no official direct replacement model

Material: Chromium-molybdenum alloy steel base material, surface carburized and quenched (hardness HRC 60-63), inner hole lead-plated bronze alloy, roughness Ra≤0.08μm, wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant, suitable for hydraulic oil and dusty and humid construction environments

Key Dimensions: Inner diameter 85mm, outer diameter 105mm, length 65mm, chamfered ends 1.5×45°, inner hole with spiral oil groove, clearance fit with pin (clearance 0.015-0.025mm), mounting hole interference fit (interference 0.01-0.02mm)

Compatible Models: CAT 323D3/336D3 excavator, 980M loader, D7E Used in bulldozers and other applications, specifically for boom cylinder lugs, stick cylinder end caps, and bucket cylinder hinges, to withstand radial and impact loads under high-pressure conditions.

Performance Parameters: Rated radial load 100kN, working pressure ≤35MPa, working temperature -40℃ to 120℃, suitable for low-speed oscillating conditions (≤40r/min), uses CAT 10W-30 hydraulic oil and lithium-based grease to extend service life.

Core Functions and Structure:

High-Pressure Radial Support: GD marking adapts to high-pressure cylinder conditions. Sleeve bearings support the cylinder pins, bearing the radial loads from the high pressure of the hydraulic system, preventing pin bending and deformation, and ensuring cylinder operating accuracy.

Lubrication and Friction Control: The inner spiral oil groove stores grease, forming an oil film to reduce friction between the pin and sleeve, lowering the wear rate, and buffering impact loads during cylinder operation, protecting the cylinder and hinge structure.

Positioning and Anti-migration: An interference fit is used on the cylinder clevis to limit radial movement of the sleeve, ensuring coaxiality between the pin and the cylinder, and preventing damage or leakage to the cylinder seals due to uneven wear.

Installation and Maintenance Points
Installation Specifications: Clean the sleeve, pin, and mounting hole, removing oil, metal filings, and impurities. Check the sleeve for cracks and deformation, and ensure the mounting hole tolerance meets H7 grade requirements.

Use the heat-fit method (heating temperature 90-110℃) to press the sleeve into the mounting hole, avoiding direct impact. After installation, check that the end face runout is ≤0.03mm and the coaxiality error is ≤0.02mm.

Before installing the pin, add CAT-specific lithium-based grease to the inner hole oil groove to ensure sufficient lubrication and avoid dry friction.

Maintenance Recommendations: Check every 600 working hours: for abnormal noises and leaks at the cylinder hinge. Replace the sleeve promptly if the inner diameter wear exceeds 0.25mm or the clearance is greater than 0.3mm.

In high-pressure or dusty environments, shorten the lubrication cycle to 300 hours/time and clean the grease fittings and lubrication channels regularly to prevent blockage.
