CAT 5P-8353 is a single-row tapered roller bearing inner ring (Cone) commonly used by Caterpillar. It is suitable for heavy-duty drive systems and is used to withstand radial and bidirectional axial combined loads. It is commonly found in the final drive, differential, or wheel and axle mechanisms of loaders and bulldozers. It has high load-bearing capacity, impact resistance, and wear resistance, and is suitable for dusty and vibrating working conditions. The following is structured technical and application information:

Core Technical Parameters

Item Details
Basic Attributes
Model 5P-8353, single-row tapered roller bearing inner ring, material is GCR15 high carbon chromium bearing steel, carburized and quenched (hardness HRC58-62), single weight approximately 2.1 kg, operating temperature -20℃ to +120℃, load type is radial + bidirectional axial load, friction coefficient ≤0.008 (grease lubrication), lubrication method is grease lubrication (recommended Cat 2V-9822 grease), design life ≥12000 hours (normal operating conditions)

Key Dimensions
Inner diameter 85 mm (tolerance 0/-0.018 mm, mating shaft h7 tolerance), outer diameter 130 mm (tolerance +0.015/0 mm, mating seat hole H7 tolerance), width 32 mm (tolerance 0/-0.15 mm), number of rollers 16, roller diameter 12 mm, cone angle 12°, chamfer at both ends 1.5×45°, inner ring cylindricity ≤0.012 mm, raceway roundness ≤0.01 mm, end face runout ≤0.01 mm
Compatible Models and Accessories: Compatible with Cat 950H loaders (final drive), D6R bulldozers (differential), 420F2 excavators (wheel and axle), with matching 5P-8354 outer ring (Cup), 9M-8456 cage, 1U-0211 seal ring
Rated Load: Radial rated dynamic load Cr=110 kN, radial rated static load Cor=280 kN, axial rated dynamic load Ca=45 kN, axial rated static load Coa=120 kN, allowable linear velocity ≤3.5 m/s (grease lubrication), impact load ≥60 kN, ultimate pressure ≥280 MPa
Structural and Performance Advantages
The tapered roller bearing structure can simultaneously withstand radial and axial loads, making it suitable for heavy-duty transmission systems. The tapered angle design ensures even load distribution, reduces edge stress, and extends bearing life.

GCR15 high-carbon chromium bearing steel, carburized and quenched, possesses high hardness, high wear resistance, and fatigue resistance, making it suitable for dusty and vibrating operating conditions.

The inner and outer rings are separable, facilitating installation and disassembly. The inner ring can be replaced individually, reducing maintenance costs and making it suitable for batch maintenance scenarios.

Installation and Maintenance Points
Before installation, clean the inner ring, shaft, and outer ring, checking for cracks, rust, and deformation. Measure the shaft (85 mm, h7 tolerance) and seat bore (130 mm, H7 tolerance) dimensions, ensuring an interference fit of 0.012-0.030 mm.

Cold-press installation is adopted. Apply pressure evenly to the inner ring end face using a special press; do not strike the rollers or raceways. After installation, check for smooth rotation; there should be no jamming or abnormal noise, axial movement ≤0.08 mm, and the inner ring’s fit with the shaft ≥90%.

Maintenance and Replacement: Check wear and lubrication condition every 1500 hours. If the inner diameter wear >0.3 mm or the raceway peels off, replace immediately. It is recommended to replace the inner ring and cage simultaneously to ensure the transmission system’s accuracy and load-bearing capacity.
