CAT 6E-4382 is a Caterpillar straight-tube steel press-fit bushing, adapted for the bucket pin/link hinge points of Cat 320B/C/D, 323B/C/D and other excavators. It is used for pin guidance and wear protection, absorbs operational impact and reduces hinge clearance. It is a core wear-resistant part of Cat® Parts that connects the boom, stick and bucket. The following is structured technical and application information:

Core Technical Parameters

Item Details
Basic Attributes
Model 6E-4382, Type: Straight cylindrical bushing without flanges, Material: 4140 alloy steel (induction hardening + nitriding), Single weight: approx. 0.98 kg, Applicable temperature: -40℃ to +120℃, Lubrication method: Grease lubrication (2 symmetrical lubrication holes), Installation method: Interference fit (interference 0.025-0.045 mm), Matching grease nipple: 1M-0884Cat® Parts

Key Dimensions
Inner diameter: 50 mm (tolerance H7, +0.030/+0.000 mm), Outer diameter: 65 mm (tolerance r6, +0.040/+0.025 mm), Length: 70 mm (tolerance ±0.03 mm), Wall thickness: 7.5 mm, Lubrication hole diameter: 4 mm, Hole depth: 5 mm, Surface hardness: HRC 60-64, Cylindricity ≤0.008 mm, Surface Roughness Ra≤0.8 μm Cat® Parts
Compatible Models and Applications: Compatible with Cat 320B/C/D, 323B/C/D, and 325B/C/D excavators. Mounted at the bucket upper hinge point, stick lower hinge point, and connecting rod to bucket connection. Includes 8T-4129 pin and 1M-0884 grease nipple. Bears radial load and impact, ensuring the accuracy of hinged joints and extending the life of pins and structural components.
Performance Parameters: Radial compressive strength ≥1100 MPa, Impact toughness ≥75 J/cm², Coefficient of friction ≤0.12 (grease lubrication), Wear life ≥7000 hours, Corrosion resistance meets ISO 9227 neutral salt spray test (48 hours rust-free), Radial static load ≤140 kN, Fatigue limit ≥480 MPa (Cat®) Parts: Structural and Performance Advantages

High Wear and Impact Resistance: 4140 alloy steel undergoes induction hardening and nitriding treatment, achieving a balance between surface hardness and core toughness. Compared to ordinary carbon steel bushings, its wear life is increased by approximately 2.5 times, capable of withstanding high-frequency impacts from high-intensity operations such as mining and infrastructure construction.

Precise Guidance and Positioning: Strict dimensional tolerances and interference fits prevent radial movement after press-fitting, ensuring pin coaxiality, reducing uneven wear at hinge points, and avoiding operational jamming and structural component damage caused by increased clearance.

Convenient Lubrication: Symmetrically distributed lubrication holes allow for the application of lithium-based grease through dedicated grease fittings, forming a continuous oil film, reducing the coefficient of friction, preventing premature failure caused by dry friction, and extending maintenance intervals.

High Versatility: Compatible with key hinge points of multiple 320/323 series excavators, eliminating the need for custom installation tools, resulting in high efficiency in maintenance and replacement, and reducing inventory and maintenance costs.

Installation and Maintenance Points
**Before installation, clean the bushing hole and bushing surface to remove burrs and rust.** Use a dedicated pressing tool (e.g., 9J-3200) to press vertically in, controlling the pressing force to 10-12 kN. After pressing, check that the end face flatness is ≤0.05 mm to avoid bushing tilting and uneven wear.

Every 500 hours of maintenance, add Cat-specific lithium-based grease (1M-0884) through the grease fitting, adding only until overflowing. Check the bushing and pin clearance; replace immediately if the clearance is >0.5 mm to prevent structural component damage.

Prioritize original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts. Aftermarket parts must match the material composition, heat treatment process, and dimensional accuracy. Inferior bushings can easily cause pin jamming and structural component deformation, increasing maintenance frequency and costs.
