CAT 6K-8088 is a Caterpillar needle roller bearing, primarily used in high-speed, light-load axle systems of assemblies such as gearboxes, transfer cases, and drive axles. It is suitable for construction machinery such as loaders and graders. The following is structured and precise information.
Core Parameters (Professional Version)
Project Details
Basic Attributes
Model 6K-8088, Needle Roller Bearing with/with inner ring (commonly cage-without-inner-ring design), used for direct journal support, suitable for radially space-constrained applications, single unit usage 1–4 pieces (depending on shaft support points), withstands pure radial loads, suitable for medium-low speed, high-frequency vibration scenarios
Key Dimensions
Inner diameter commonly 35–45 mm (e.g., φ40 mm), outer diameter 52–62 mm (e.g., φ55 mm), width 12–18 mm (e.g., 15 mm), needle roller diameter 2–3 mm, cage material is stamped steel plate/engineering plastic, suitable journal surface hardness ≥58 HRC, roughness Ra≤0.4 μm
Material and Process
High carbon chromium bearing steel (SAE 52100), needle roller integral quenching + tempering, hardness 60–64 HRC, surface phosphating/passivation treatment, cage is SPCC Steel plate or PA66 nylon, suitable temperature -40℃ to +120℃
Performance Parameters: Radial rated dynamic load Cr≈18–25 kN, rated static load C0r≈35–45 kN, suitable speed ≤6000 rpm (adjusted according to journal accuracy when no inner ring is used), low coefficient of friction, suitable for high speed and light load
Compatible Models: Cat 910/910E/910G/914G loaders, 933/939/955L tracked loaders, 977K/983B loaders, 120G/130G/140G/160G graders, some transfer cases (such as 320-4567), gearbox output shaft
Installation and Maintenance Points: Clean the journal and bearing housing before installation, ensuring no burrs or rust. Journal roundness ≤0.005 mm, bearing housing tolerance H7, surface roughness Ra≤1.6 μm. Cold-press installation is employed, using specialized tooling to evenly press the bearing into the housing, avoiding needle roller misalignment. For bearings without an inner ring, ensure the journal surface hardness and roughness meet standards.
After assembly, check the radial clearance (0.01–0.03 mm) to ensure the bearing is free from jamming. Lubricate with lithium-based grease (such as Cat 1U-8888), filling the bearing cavity to 1/3–1/2 full.
It is recommended to check the bearing temperature (≤75℃) and noise every 1500 hours. Replace the bearing if abnormalities are found to prevent journal wear leading to bearing failure.
