CAT 6S-7826 is a Caterpillar genuine bearing retainer/circlip, commonly used in bearings, pins, or gear assemblies of equipment such as mini loaders and skid steer loaders. Its core function is axial positioning and anti-loosening, preventing axial movement of components during operation and ensuring stable and reliable transmission and hinge connections.
Core Technical Parameters
Item Details
Part Model CAT 6S-7826 Bearing Retainer / Snap Ring
Material Spring steel (65Mn or similar grade), quenched, hardness HRC 42-48, excellent elasticity and wear resistance
Key Dimensions Inner diameter approx. 35mm, outer diameter approx. 45mm, thickness approx. 2.5mm, opening gap 1.5-2.0mm, suitable for positioning bearings or pins with a 35mm shaft diameter
Compatible Models Commonly compatible with 242D/246D skid steer loaders, 906M/907M mini loaders, 303.5E2 compact excavators, etc., used for axial fixing of hydraulic pump bearings, gearbox gear shafts, articulated pins, etc.
Performance Characteristics Elastic opening design, fits snugly against the shaft shoulder or bearing end face after installation, providing continuous axial preload; resistant to oil and dust conditions in construction machinery, stable anti-loosening effect, can be repeatedly disassembled and assembled (recommended disassembly and assembly times ≤ 3). (Next) Core Functions and Structure
Axial Positioning: Installed in the groove of the shaft, it locks the inner ring of the bearing or the end face of the component, limiting axial displacement and preventing bearing movement and gear meshing misalignment caused by vibration during equipment operation, ensuring transmission accuracy.
Anti-Loosening Locking: The elasticity of the spring steel material ensures the retainer remains in close contact with the groove, maintaining its fixation even under high-frequency vibration conditions, preventing abnormal noise, wear, or even malfunctions caused by component loosening.
Compact Structure: The annular thin-plate design occupies little installation space, adapting to narrow cavities and facilitating installation in compact components such as hydraulic pumps and gearboxes.
Installation and Maintenance Points
Installation Specifications
Clean the shaft groove and retainer surface to remove oil, rust, and impurities. Check that the groove dimensions (width, depth) match the retainer to avoid dimensional deviations that could lead to fixation failure.
Use snap ring pliers to open the retainer opening and smoothly place it into the groove, ensuring the retainer is fully embedded without tilting. After installation, gently push it by hand to check for axial looseness.
When installing the bearing, install the bearing first, then the retainer. The end face of the retainer should fit snugly against the inner ring of the bearing, with a gap ≤0.10mm, to prevent impact during operation.
Maintenance Recommendations: Inspect every 500-800 working hours: Check the retainer for deformation, breakage, or loss of elasticity; check the shaft grooves for wear. Replace immediately if any abnormalities are found.
Use dedicated snap ring pliers for disassembly and assembly. Do not use screwdrivers or other tools to pry, as this may deform or break the retainer. When replacing, prioritize original parts to ensure size and elasticity matching.
