The CAT 9G-2456 is a Caterpillar original crankshaft thrust ring (double half type), adapted for axial positioning of crankshafts in heavy-duty engines such as the C13 and C15, used to withstand piston side pressure and crankshaft axial loads. The following is pure original data and does not include replacement parts information.

Structure and Compatibility Characteristics
**Double-Half Structure:** The double-half design facilitates installation in the crankshaft thrust bearing housing, adapting to engine crankshaft axial positioning, precisely controlling crankshaft axial movement, and avoiding abnormal piston-cylinder wall friction.
Nitrided Surface: Surface nitriding treatment improves hardness and wear resistance, adapting to high-frequency reciprocating conditions of engines, extending the service life of the thrust surface, and reducing maintenance frequency.
Pressure Lubrication Compatibility: Oil grooves are pre-reserved on the thrust surface, adapting to engine pressure lubrication systems, forming an oil film to reduce friction, and adapting to stable operation under heavy load and high temperature conditions.
Compatible Engines and Application Scenarios
**Engine:** Heavy-duty diesel engines such as C13, C15, C18, 3512, and 3516.
Construction Machinery: Power systems for 336GC and 349GC excavators, 966M and 972M loaders, and 140M graders.
Application Scenarios: Crankshaft main bearing housing thrust ring, used to limit crankshaft axial displacement, ensure valve timing and piston movement accuracy, and provide stable power output for heavy-duty operations.
Installation and Maintenance Points (Original Data)
Installation: Clean the crankshaft thrust surface and bearing housing, ensuring no burrs or oil contamination. Before installation, check the flatness of the thrust ring; do not use if it exceeds tolerance.
Install the two halves of the ring with a slight misalignment, aligning the positioning groove with the bearing housing positioning pin. Do not strike the thrust surface. After installation, control the axial clearance to 0.12-0.20 mm.
Pre-fill with engine oil before starting. Let it idle for 5-10 minutes, checking the oil pressure and crankshaft runout to ensure there are no abnormalities.
Maintenance: Check crankshaft runout every 2000 hours. Replace the thrust ring if it exceeds 0.3 mm.
Regularly monitor engine oil quality to prevent impurities from entering the lubrication system and causing increased wear on the thrust surface.
